Residents of Goshen Beach Estate in Lekki Phase 1, Lagos, have commended the Lagos State Electricity Regulatory Commission (LASERC) for resolving what they described as a year-long electricity crisis in the community.
The residents, under the aegis of the Goshen Beach Estate Residents’ Association, conveyed their appreciation in a letter dated May 18, 2026, jointly signed by Board of Trustees members, Victoria Iroro and Segun Oloketuyi, and addressed to the Chief Executive Officer of the Lagos State Electricity Regulatory Commission, Mrs Temitope George.
In the letter, the residents said the intervention of the commission led to the estate’s connection to a direct electricity line from the Jazz 38 Feeder after months of unstable power supply.
“We write on behalf of the residents of Goshen Beach Estate to sincerely appreciate your personal intervention in resolving our intractable power problems, which lasted about a year. We have now been connected to the direct line from the Jazz 38 Feeder,” the letter read.
The association praised the efforts of LASERC and the Eko Electricity Distribution Company team, noting that the intervention brought stability and reliability to electricity supply within the estate.
“Your personal intervention in the matter, how you reached out, and ensured the EKEDC Team gave the issue the required attention, enabling them to resolve it and give us a connection that is both more stable and reliable, is very well appreciated by all the residents,” the residents stated.
According to the association, residents had spent significant resources over the past year in attempts to secure a lasting solution to the prolonged electricity challenges before the intervention of the commission.
“The very precarious Goshen Beach Estate power situation lasted long, and the residents contributed and invested significant expense in trying to find a lasting solution, but alas, we were severely disappointed until the direct engagement and intervention of EKEDC and you,” the letter added.
The residents further noted that the completion of the project had brought relief to members of the community.
“The timely completion of this project has brought much relief to our entire community,” the statement said.
