A mobile court sitting in Abeokuta has convicted 25 traffic offenders, according to a Wednesday statement by the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ogun State Sector Command.
The session, held on April 22, 2026, at the RS2.2 Sector Command headquarters, was presided over by Chief Magistrate O.T. Odubanjo.
According to the FRSC, a total of 25 offenders were arraigned and all 25 were convicted, with no discharges recorded. The agency said 46 offences were documented during the proceedings.
The statement was signed by Odunsi Afolabi, Superintendent Route Commander and Public Relations Officer of the FRSC Ogun Sector Command.
The statement noted that the offences “primarily involved critical safety breaches, including: Speed Limit Device (SLD) and Driver’s Licence (DLV) violations. Overloading (OVL) and Seatbelt (SUV) infractions. Vehicle Licence (VLV) and Number Plate (NPV).” It added that “No offender was sentenced to imprisonment.”
Speaking on the outcome, the Ogun State Sector Commander, Corps Commander Oludare Ogunjobi, stated that the mobile court initiative was central to the command’s enforcement drive.
He stated that the exercise remained “a vital component of the Command’s sustained enforcement strategy to reduce road traffic crashes and fatalities.”
The FRSC stressed that “The zero-discharge rate underscores the precision of the FRSC’s enforcement and the court’s commitment to holding traffic violators accountable.”
It further stressed that “This exercise serves as a stern reminder to motorists that the Command remains vigilant in its ‘Zero Tolerance’ approach to road traffic infractions to ensure the safety of lives and property.”
