The Snaresbrook Crown Court in the UK has confirmed that Iweh Pascal Odinaka, the Nigerian dancer popularly known as ‘Poco Lee’, will be arraigned for alleged rape on September 15.
The London-based court confirmed the case in a correspondence with TheCable Lifestyle on Tuesday.
In response to an inquiry, James Baker, the court’s admin team lead, confirmed that the matter was official and that Poco Lee’s case was listed for plea and trial preparation before one of its 20 courtrooms.
The court admin also disclosed that the defendant was being charged with “attempted rape, two counts of rape, and two counts of assault by penetration.”
“I can confirm that this case is currently listed at Snaresbrook Crown Court for plea and trial preparation on the 15th September 2026,” the response read.
The court, however, maintained that Poco Lee remained innocent of the allegations until he is arraigned, tried and found guilty.
The confirmation of Poco Lee’s forthcoming arraignment comes a week after reports of his arrest in the UK surfaced online.
According to Premium Times, the forthcoming appearance will be a plea and trial preparation hearing, a pretrial proceeding in which a defendant is expected to enter a plea, and the court considers arrangements for the subsequent conduct of the case.
His detention was confirmed on Monday by Benjamin Kuti, popularly known as the Oluomo of Derby and founder of the Community of Nigerians in the United Kingdom.
Kuti said Poco Lee was being held in a UK prison and that he intended to attend the entertainer’s forthcoming court proceedings as a member of the Nigerian community.
