Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command’s Anti-Kidnapping Unit have arrested three suspects and recovered a truck loaded with military camouflage uniforms and suspected illicit drugs.
The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, disclosed this on Tuesday while briefing journalists on achievements recorded by the command in June 2026.
According to the police boss, the suspects identified as Chinedu David, 29; Ezeagwu Chukwuma, 38; and Ifeanyi Ogbeanyi, 45, were apprehended during the operation.
He said the operation also led to the recovery of an unregistered MAN diesel truck conveying 47 sacks containing military camouflage uniforms and 80 cartons of drugs suspected to be illicit substances.
Tijani said, “Preliminary investigation revealed that the recovered truck was allegedly being used to transport the military camouflage uniforms to the Eastern part of the country. Investigation is ongoing to determine the source, ownership, and intended recipients of the recovered items, as well as establish the extent of the suspects’ involvement and identify other persons connected with the criminal act.”
“The Command wishes to reassure all residents of Lagos State that there will be no safe haven for criminal elements within the State. We therefore urge members of the public to continue partnering with the Police by providing timely, useful, and credible information capable of supporting crime prevention, prompt operational response, and effective law enforcement,” he said.
Tijani added that the command remained committed to sustaining its operational gains and ensuring that all suspects connected with criminal activities were thoroughly investigated and prosecuted.
