An election violence scene

The lawmaker representing Oshodi/Isolo Constituency I at the Lagos State House of Assembly, Stephen Ogundipe, has said election violence in the community is often perpetuated by “outsiders.”

Ogundipe said this while embarking on an inspection of road projects in his constituency on Monday, where he lauded President Bola Tinubu and the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, as well as the Speaker of the State Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, for their development strides.

Ogundipe addressed concerns about security and electoral violence, insisting that Oshodi residents are peaceful and law-abiding.

“Those who perpetrate violence are often outsiders. Our people are calm and focused on their daily activities. We must continue to protect the good image of Oshodi,” he stated.

Ogundipe inspected four ongoing road projects in the area and expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of work.

The roads under construction — Oluwasanmi, Baba Ode, Deji Adeoye, and Alhaji Sokoya Streets — are being handled by Lagfield Construction Company Limited as part of the Lagos State Government’s efforts to improve connectivity and ease movement within the densely populated community.

The lawmaker commended the contractor handling the project for the visible progress and quality of work, describing it as a welcome development for residents.

“We came to inspect the level of work, and I am impressed with what I have seen. This demonstrates the government’s commitment to improving infrastructure in Oshodi,” he said.

He also appreciated the Lagos State Governor and the Speaker of the State House of Assembly for facilitating the projects, noting that the initiative reflects responsiveness to the needs of the people.
