Members of the Nigeria Automobile Association are currently staging a protest at the Lagos State House of Assembly in Alausa, Ikeja.
The protesters, dressed in their association uniforms, were seen carrying placards with messages including, “APC, save our workshops, save our livelihoods.”
The reason for the protest and the broader demands of the association were not immediately clear as of the time of filing this report.
The mechanics moved around the Assembly complex and later converged at the gate of the House.
Police officers from the Alausa Division of the Lagos State Police Command were later seen advancing towards them.
The protesters were barely gathered for 10 minutes at the assembly gate when they later dispersed. The reason for their dispersal was unclear as of the time of filing this report but might not be unconnected from the arrival of the policemen.
