The Lagos State Government, through Health District III, on Thursday, reiterated its commitment to bringing essential medical services directly to residents, stressing that primary healthcare centres remain the backbone of a resilient health system.
This was made known by the Permanent Secretary, Health District III, Dr. Monsurat Adeleke, during the unveiling of Adesalu Primary Healthcare Centre, Onosa, Ibeju-Lekki.
She added that the commissioning marks a significant milestone in building an inclusive health system across the District, ensuring safe deliveries for mothers, healthy starts for children, and reliable care for every household.

According to her, the newly commissioned facility will operate for eight hours daily, providing antenatal care, child immunisation, family planning, nutrition counselling and primary treatments, while maintaining structured referral links to 24-hour facilities for critical care.
“I want to call on healthcare workers at this facility to maintain strict standards of clinical care, confidentiality and patient dignity. I also urge community leaders, traditional rulers and residents to take full ownership of the health centre by utilising its services and safeguarding its facilities,” she said.

In his remarks, the Chairman, Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Engr. Sesan Olowa, said the facility was handed over a year ago by the State Government and that the Local Government had provided modern equipment to make it fully functional. He noted that the facility stands as a living monument to what can be achieved when grassroots integrity meets hope.
He added that the centre is fully active and equipped with high-performance health infrastructure, including fully deployed hospital beds, specialised delivery couches and advanced clinical examination tables built to protect patients and deliver absolute comfort.
